Bad Roads In Nigeria: Twitter Users React To Fashola’s Statement

After the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola said earlier on that, Nigerian roads are not that bad, Twitter users have responded, saying that he is not living in the same country with them.

This development emerged from Fashola actual statement that Nigerian roads were not as bad as being portrayed,  on Wednesday, during a briefing with journalist, after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.

In the minister’s words,  he stated that, “The roads are not as bad as they are often portrayed. I know that this is going to be your headline, but the roads are not that bad.”

This statement made by the former governor of Lagos State has gone viral and generated a lot of reactions from Nigerians especially on various social media platforms like twitter.

Some Twitter users related the negative effect of the bad roads to kidnapping, and reiterated another statement that the Vice President Osinbajo also made. Amb Emmanuel Jr  a Twitter user said:

“Kidnapping in Nigeria is exaggerated – #AudioVP Osinbajo. There’s no hunger in the land – Minister of Agric Nanono. Nigerian roads not as bad as portrayed – Fashola. Obviously these people are living in a different Nigeria. Such a disconnection from reality.”

Another said, “This man’s head has been corrupted by the allure of ministerial office. Take a look at Oju-Otukpo federal road, Oju-Awajir Road and Otukpo-Enugu road alone.”
